‘The Fourth Wall’ to screen at Animest filmfest

Iranian short animation ‘The Fourth Wall’ is slated to vie at the Animest International Animation Film Festival in Romania.

Written and directed by Mahboubeh Kalaee, the animation will vie at the international short animations section of the 2021 edition of the event.

"Home and family, relationships, desires, wishes and everything are summarized in a kitchen. The stuttering boy is alone there, playing with his imagination,” a synopsis for the 10-minute animation reads.

‘The Fourth Wall’ has already been screened at some global events, including the Annecy International Animation Film Festival in France, and the World Festival of Animated Film Animafest Zagreb in Croatia, where it won the jury award titled "Zlatko Grgić Award."

“Animest International Animation Film Festival is the only festival in Romania dedicated to animated film. It was founded in 2006, and gathers films from all over the world, in six competitive categories both for short and feature film, ample retrospectives and focus on various countries, animation studios and film schools,” the official website of the event reads.

The 16th edition of the festival is scheduled for October 8-17, 2021.
